Updated Privacy Policy for Eigen Planning

This Privacy Policy explains how Eigen Planning (the "App") accesses, uses, and shares Google user data, including data from your Google Sheets and other authorized Google services. By using the App, you agree to the data access practices described below.

1. Data Access and Collection

The App collects or accesses the following Google user data when you authorize specific permissions:

• Google Sheets Data (via https://www.googleapis.com/auth/spreadsheets): The App accesses the contents of Google Sheets you authorize. This includes:

  • Task data from your to-do lists (e.g., task names, due dates, statuses)

  • Habit data from habit trackers (e.g., habits, goals, progress)

  • Address data from the job search tool (e.g., home address and job location addresses)

  • Any other data contained within the specific Google Sheets you authorize.

• Google Email Address: Your email address may be accessed when setting up automated triggers (via https://www.googleapis.com/auth/script.scriptapp). This is required to attach triggers to your Google Sheets for automating certain app functions. The App does not store or use your email address for any other purpose.

• Home Address: If you enable the optional "Commute Distance" feature, your home address will be sent to OpenRouteService (ORS) to calculate commute distances. This data is transmitted directly to ORS and is not stored or processed by the App.

• Google Script Triggers Metadata: The App may use Google Apps Script to automate updates to your Google Sheets. This involves storing your Google email address as metadata within the triggers but does not involve collecting or storing your email address outside of this specific function.

2. How We Use Your Data

The App uses your Google user data solely for the following purposes:

• Habit Tracker and To-Do List Features: The App accesses and updates your authorized Google Sheets to manage your tasks and habits. It reads and writes data in real-time, based on your inputs, and may use automated triggers to update habit tracker data (if you choose to set these up). These features do not access or share data with any third-party services.

• Job Search Tool: The App accesses and organizes job-related data you enter in your Google Sheets, such as job addresses and notes. If you enable the optional "Commute Distance" feature, the App sends your home address and job location addresses to OpenRouteService (ORS) to calculate commute distances. The App does not store any of these addresses.

• Automated Triggers: The App uses Google Apps Script triggers to automatically update your spreadsheets (e.g., habit tracker data) even when you're not actively using the App. These triggers are linked to your Google email address but are not used for any other purpose.

3. Data Sharing, Transfer, and Disclosure

The App does not share, transfer, or disclose your Google user data to third parties, except in the following specific instances:

• OpenRouteService (ORS): If you enable the optional "Commute Distance" feature, your home address and job location addresses are shared with ORS solely to calculate commute distances. This feature is optional, and no other data is shared with ORS. We do not store or process your home address or any related data once the calculation is complete.

• Internal Metadata: The Google email address tied to your Google Apps Script triggers is visible to the developer for internal use only. This metadata is necessary for automating your habit tracker and to-do list but is not shared externally or used for marketing purposes.

• No Data Sharing for Advertising: The App does not sell, transfer, or share any Google user data, including Google Sheets data or email addresses, with any third-party entities for advertising or marketing purposes.

4. Security of Your Data

Your data is protected through Google’s OAuth 2.0 authentication and security protocols. The App does not store any Google user data outside of your Google account. All interactions between the App and your Google Sheets are encrypted using HTTPS.

• Google Sheets Data: All data interactions with your Google Sheets occur in real-time and are secured by Google's built-in security systems. We do not store any spreadsheet data on external servers.

• Commute Distance Feature: If enabled, your home address and job locations are transmitted to ORS using HTTPS. No data is stored or retained by the App, and the ORS API key is managed by you.

5. User Control and Revoking Access

You can revoke the App's access to your Google Sheets and other Google services at any time via your Google Account settings. Once revoked, the App will no longer be able to access or interact with your Google user data.

6. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this policy from time to time, and any changes will be posted on this page. You are advised to review the policy periodically for updates.
